Interview with VTC Television: Key success factors for Vietnamese exporters

During the interview conducted by VTC television on export volumne in the first half of 2018 in Vietnam, Mr. Marko Walde, Chief Representative of the German Industry & Commerce in Vietnam (GIC/AHK Vietnam) shared his suggestions and recommendations on purpose of sustainable growth as well as the current projects and activities to support Vietnam exporters in market entry (globally).

In terms of sustainable growth, Mr. Walde suggested that Vietnamese enterprises must ensure the stability of product quality, update information about trends, demand & prices in target markets as well as the consumer behaviour. On the other hand, Vietnamese companies should also take advantage of the Free Trade Agreements, increase knowledge about international markets and import & export procedures. The government should provide policies to support SMEs in enhancing their competitive advantages. Last but not least, Vietnam needs to attract more FDIs, especially the projects with technology transfer.

Mr. Walde affirmed that one of the most important tasks of GIC/AHK Vietnam is to support Vietnamese enterprises in seeking business opportunities in Germany. The first step of entering & understanding the market is to participate in trade shows in Germany. GIC/AHK Vietnam provides professional consulting services for German and Vietnamese businesses to find suitable suppliers and partners in distribution, sourcing & investment.

Mr. Walde said that it is not easy for Vietnamese companies to enter the German or European market as well as German companies face obstacles when doing business in Vietnam. Therefore, GIC/AHK Vietnam also provides urgent services in case of enterprises having difficulties in Vietnam or in Germany.
