Vietnam is advancing a suite of strategic infrastructure projects that mark a new phase of urban modernization and economic momentum as the nation enters the era shaped by the 14th National Party Congress.

A highlight is the official groundbreaking of Metro Line 2 (Ben Thanh – Tham Luong) in Ho Chi Minh City on January 15, a major step forward for the city’s urban transport network. With a total length of around 11.3 km and 11 stations, the line will connect the central Ben Thanh hub with the northwest districts, easing congestion and improving connectivity across the metropolis. The project is fully funded by public investment and applies modern technologies under special development policies to accelerate delivery.

In the same period, the city also launched several other landmark projects: the Rach Chiec National Sports Complex, designed as a world-class hub for sports and culture; the Phu My 2 Bridge and Can Gio Bridge, which will strengthen regional linkages and support socio-economic integration.

Beyond transport and sports infrastructure, Vietnam is making strides in high-technology and industrial development. Ground has broken on the country’s first semiconductor fabrication plant in Hoa Lac Hi-Tech Park — a cornerstone initiative for boosting domestic tech capacity and supply chain resilience.

These efforts reflect Vietnam’s broader commitment to sustainable urbanization, enhanced connectivity, and investment attractiveness — factors that continue to draw strong domestic and international interest as the country progresses into 2026.
