From June 30 to July 5, 2024, AHK Vietnam, in collaboration with VDMA Textile Machinery, under the support of the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Climate Action of Germany (BMWK) hosted an impactful delegation trip aimed at strengthening the ties between German and Vietnamese businesses in textile machinery and accessories sector. The activities for 5 days provided a unique platform for participants to explore business opportunities and foster international collaboration.
The journey began with a warm welcome in Hanoi. Insights into Vietnam's political and economic landscape were shared by esteemed speakers, including Jan Bietendorf from BMWK, and Peter Buerstedde from Germany Trade & Invest. AHK Vietnam’s Deputy Chief Representative, Björn Koslowski, briefed the attendees on market entry strategies and intercultural norms, setting the stage for a productive week.
Throughout the trip, the delegation visited key industry players in the North, as well as the Vietnam Textile and Apparel Association (VITAS), gaining helpful insight into Vietnam's industrial capabilities. The symposium and B2B meetings held at the Grand Mercure Hanoi and New World Saigon Hotel featured presentations from leading German companies. These sessions, moderated by Mr. Boris Abadjieff of VDMA Textile Machinery, covered cutting-edge developments in textile machinery and sustainable practices.
Another highlight of the trip was the technology seminar at HCMC University of Technology (HCMUT), which underscored the importance of academic and industry collaboration. Especially, the company Brückner Trockentechnik GmbH & Co. KG, one German delegation member has offered an internship and online training courses to students from HCMUT. The delegation concluded with a feedback lunch, reflecting on the week’s accomplishments and prospects.
