Vietnam is one of Southeast Asia’s most dynamic economies and is significantly expanding its water and wastewater infrastructure. Rapid urbanisation, industrial growth and increasing environmental requirements create attractive business opportunities for German technology providers in the water sector.
From 16 to 20 November 2026, SBS systems for business solutions GmbH, on behalf of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), is organising a business initiation trip to Vietnam in cooperation with AHK Vietnam and German Water Partnership e.V.
The project is part of the German SME Market Development Programme and funded within the framework of the Environmental Technologies Export Initiative. It primarily targets small and medium-sized German enterprises.
Target Market
Vietnam’s growing water demand is expected to increase by approximately 32% by 2030. At the same time, only a limited share of municipal wastewater is currently treated. Substantial investments are required in:
- Water supply and wastewater treatment
- Industrial and municipal water infrastructure
- Desalination technologies
- Digitalisation and intelligent monitoring systems
- Sustainable and energy-efficient solutions

- EUR 1,500 (net)
Travel and accommodation costs are borne by participants.
Maximum number of participants: 12 companies (SMEs have priority).
