From May 26 to 30, 2025, AMENA Trade & Investment Consulting GmbH, in cooperation with the Delegation of German Industry and Commerce (AHK Vietnam), is organizing a business initiation to Vietnam on behalf of the Federal Ministry of Economics and Climate Action (BMWK). This is a project-related support measure within the framework of the market development program for SMEs.

Since the opening of the market economy in the 1990s, Vietnam has been undergoing dynamic change with high growth rates and strong urbanization. The country is therefore facing considerable challenges in terms of waste disposal and collection as well as the implementation of a modern recycling infrastructure. In particular, the demand for advanced technology and engineering services in recycling and water management opens up new business opportunities for German companies. Modern waste and wastewater technologies as well as separate disposal systems are also coming into focus.

Vietnam's “Green Growth” policy offers investment incentives and creates potential for German technology providers.

Improved economic relations with the EU and free trade agreements are also strengthening market opportunities for German suppliers. In addition, the reforms in the water and wastewater sector and the opening up to foreign investors offer opportunities, particularly through technical equipment and training. Training and further education for operational and management staff is particularly relevant, as many Vietnamese companies are turning to in-house training to address the shortage of skilled workers.

German companies can make valuable contributions here with their expertise in the dual training system and their experience in the further training of skilled workers. Joint ventures and investments in state-owned companies facilitate market access and offer additional business opportunities.
