General Information

Building on the successful completion of the predecessor project, “ProRecognition”, which was run from 2015 to 2023 by AHK Vietnam with support from the German Federal Ministry of Education and Research (BMBF), we will continue to offer guidance on the German recognition procedure for Vietnamese workforce under the brand “Fair Migration and Recognition” starting in 2024.

About ProRecognition: During this project, the ProRecognition team at AHK Vietnam was a key reference point for those wishing to enter the German labor market. Many individuals have benefited from free consultations on recognizing academic and non-academic degrees as well as obtained useful information on the procedures.

Recognition of Vietnamese qualifications in Germany

Qualification recognition is the process of assessing and evaluating an individual’s educational background, professional qualifications, and work experience after completing a training program in their home country to determine the level of equivalence with the training and education standards in Germany. 

Since April 2012, the Recognition Act has officially come into effect. Workers trained abroad have the right to submit applications for the recognition of their degrees and professional qualifications. The German Recognition Act has brought about clarity, and transparency, as well as opened better career prospects for Vietnamese workers in Germany.

Requirements of Vietnamese Qualification Recognition in Germany

  1. You have completed a vocational/training program at universities, colleges, or vocational schools in Vietnam with a minimum training duration of 2 years. 
  2. You have a qualification recognized by the Vietnamese goverment.
  3. The relevant profession to your qualification also exists in Germany.
