Event Outline
German companies are struggling to retain IT and engineering staff due to the ageing population and rising HR demand, i.e. in the AI space. Outsourcing of certain tasks and processes to other countries may be a solution to remedy such challenges. In this context, Vietnam is a prime location due to its young and able workforce.
This roadshow will take place from May 19 to 23 with workshops in Munich, Heibronn, Dortmund and Leipzig.
The project will be supported by the Chambers of Commerce and Industry (IHKs) in the above-mentioned cities.
Objective of this document is to line out a project and marketing plan leading up to the implementation of the symposium as well as follow-up efforts.
Mission and Vision of the Project
Vision: Improve the competitiveness of German companies by utilizing Vietnamese technical knowhow
Mission: Assist German companies in securing IT and engineering HR capabilities by making them aware of Vietnamese solution providers
Market Analysis
Germany's digital economy is experiencing rapid growth, characterized by the emergence of new IT players and the increasing digitization of processes and products by traditional companies. This trend has led to a significant demand for professionals in the IT and engineering sectors (TechDesign). However, projections indicate that by 2040, approximately 663,000 IT positions may remain unfilled due to a shortage of qualified talent within Germany.
To address this talent gap, companies are increasingly looking to engage remote professionals from other countries. Historically, German firms have focused on Eastern Europe, Turkey, and India for talent acquisition. Nevertheless, Vietnam has developed a robust TechDesign industry that is not yet widely recognized in Germany. This presents an opportunity for German companies to explore Vietnam as a viable source of skilled TechDesign professionals.
Target Group
The German industry shall be addressed through the following company groups:
- IT and other digital as well as service companies
- Traditional industrial players from various sectors such as machinery and appliances, automotive, and chemical industry
Above mentioned groups have both a more passive demand to receive information and possibly inspiration as well as a more active demand for concrete exchange with knowledge holders. The roadshow will cater to these needs through presentations (passive demand for information) and through networking opportunities with the sponsors of the event (active demand for exchange).
