Following the success of the previous editions from 2022 to 2025, the Purchasing Initiative Southeast Asia will return in 2026 as a digital B2B event series. Commissioned by the Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWE), the initiative is part of the Market Development Program for SMEs and is designed to support German small and medium-sized enterprises (SMEs) in exploring sourcing opportunities across Southeast Asia.
From June 15 to July 3, 2026, German buyers and Southeast Asian suppliers will engage in targeted one-on-one digital matchmaking meetings to establish new business relationships and explore alternative sourcing strategies.
The initiative is jointly organized by BME (German Association for Supply Chain Management, Procurement and Logistics) and AHK partners from Vietnam, Malaysia, Thailand, the Philippines, Singapore, Indonesia, Laos, and Cambodia, with additional support from the Chambers of Commerce and Industry in Cologne, Dortmund, Pfalz and Frankfurt, as well as the German Asia-Pacific Business Association (OAV).
Building on more than 700 successful B2B meetings in past editions, the 2026 event will focus on specific product categories, such as:
- Metal structures
- Cast and forged parts
- Stamped and bent components
- Injection-molded plastic and electronic parts
- Welded assemblies
- Production materials
- Assembled components and engineered parts
- IT and engineering services
By narrowing the scope to selected product groups, the initiative enables SMEs to connect with qualified regional suppliers in an efficient and structured format.
