What is Restaurant Specialist?

Restaurant Specialists contact and serve the guests directly in the dining area, playing an important role in building the image and quality of service of the restaurant – hotel for the customer. They will coordinate with other departments such as cashiers, receptionists, chefs … to support all requirements of customers to make them feel comfortable when enjoying the service. Prepare the work area, set up the dining table according to the standards of the restaurant as well as the requirements of guests.

The content of the training program

The vocational training program in Restaurant Specialist according to the standard of German DIHK includes the following main contents:

  • Communication skills, advising customers
  • Skills, professional service customers in accordance with standards
  • Knowledge about food and beverage
  • Use the necessary machinery, equipment for work
  • Prepare service area
  • Method to organize events
  • Accomplish a payment, make a bill
  • Foreign language
  • Food safety, environmental protection
  • Safety at workplace

Necessary abilities

  • Diligent, active working
  • Willing to work in a restaurant or hotel
  • Ability to communicate and advise customers
  • Ensure compliance with the standards
  • Ability to work in team

Training time

The training program takes 3 years.
